  1. Public healthcare costs less. Americans spend more per person than Canadians do, even with Obamacare. In 2013 the average American spent $8508 while the average Canadian spent $4522 for better healthcare. That means that the USA spent 17.7% of its GDP on health, while Canada spent 11.2%. Public healthcare is economical.
  2. Everybody deserves good healthcare. That is why Canadians expect universal healthcare. According to the world health organization "With universal health coverage, countries can help ensure that citizens obtain the health services they need without suffering financial hardship when paying for them".
  3. Accessible healthcare services mean that high quality healthcare must be available in Canada, but more specifically in local communities in Oxford. The quality of care and rate of recovery is improved when hospitals are located in local towns and cities allowing families and friends to play a role in care, compassion and companionship.
  4. Dr. Margaret Chan Director General of the World Health Organization " Describes universal healthcare coverage as the single most powerful concept that public health has to offer.... a powerful social equalizer and the ultimate expression of fairness".
  5. The Oxford Coalition for Social Justice believes that free, universal, accessible, public health is necessary for social justice.
